I loved taking pictures of the streets in Amsterdam. I loved all the old canals, endless bikes, and houses that lined the streets. I loved the busy market places full of tulip bulbs and fresh flowers. I loved how the streets were full of so many different forms of transportation from pedestrians, bicycles, scooters, buses, cars, and trams. I loved how it was a city on the brink of spring. There was a certain charm and appeal that Amsterdam had, that I can’t quite put my finger on. I tried to capture some of that charm in my photos.

Beautiful pictures! I live around the corner of your first picture!
Oh wow, that’s so cool! I loved that sign, Amsterdam Streets.
Beautiful!! And you’re in a jacket with a scarf!! Significant detail if you live in the tropics. I’m from Holland, Michigan so it’s fun to see my town’s namesake for real.
Yes, I wasn’t used to the colder weather…Singapore has spoiled me!
Again, stunning photography! What type of lens do you use? Do you take several lenses or just one when you travel?
Thank so much for your kind words!! I mostly use my 35mm Nikon fixed lens! I also have a Tamron 28-75mm one that is a bit bigger that I bring with me on my trips. However, I only take 1 lens with me when I go out for the day. The trick is that I edit my photos using Adobe Lightroom 4. Do you use a DSLR camera as well??
I do. I use a Canon Rebel XS. I love my 50mm fixed lens! I call it my nifty fifty! I have a lens like you describe that has a range (it’s not with me, so I forget the range), but I really don’t like it much. I just got a wide angle lens, which I’m excited about, but I haven’t been able to master it yet. My pics are turning out slightly blurry, but when I look at the image on the little screen, it looks fine. It’s not until I get home and load them to my computer that I realize they are blurry. I don’t ever edit my photos. Maybe that’s the issue. Thanks for the info!
