A Dream in my Pocket
I have a dream in my pocket.
I pull it out.
I shove it back in.
I completely forget about it.
I sit on it and it pokes me.
I carefully pull it out.
I look at it and wonder.
I shove it back in my pocket.

I pull out my dream again.
I put my dream into words.
I share my dream with people.
I realize that this is a big dream, but it’s my dream.
I will need time to nurture and grow my dream.
No longer in my pocket, my dream is in front of me.

What dreams do you have in your pocket?
Oh, very fun to think about, that dream that is nudging you from your pocket. I like the way that the dream wouldn’t let you ignore it, but kept poking at you. Lovely vision.
What simple imagery–what profound words. I hope you find where your dream is nudging you and bring it to fruition.
Lovely. Really does seem (at least for me) that it isn’t until we verbalize that dream to others that we can start working on it.
I love this …and how cool that Pamela gave you the idea to try this format. I’m thinking that I really need to try a bit more with poetry…it’s a bit scary for me. Maybe it is one of those dreams that I have in my pocket right now. 🙂
I like how you describe your dream as poking you in your pocket, too often we think of dreams as being soft and fuzzy when they really aren’t
“I put my dream into words.
I share my dream with people.
I realize that this is a big dream, but it’s my dream.”
Love these lines! Hang on to that dream!
